On Thursday 1st of February, PJW HR Consultancy’s Director, Pamela Whitehead will be landing in Paris for the International Chamber of Commerce’s (ICC) 13th Commercial Mediation Competition. The largest event worldwide that is devoted to commercial mediation.
Over the period of six days, students from around the globe will be competing in around 150 mock sessions to resolve commercial disputes through the use of mediation. The teams are guided by professionals and must follow the ICC’s Rules on Mediation.
Global Reach
With the event boasting 13 years, it has become a prestigious competition for many universities around the world. More than 60 teams will be attending, from universities such as the University of Warsaw (Poland), Strathmore University (Kenya) and King’s College London (UK).
Pamela will be heading to Paris with ADR-ODR International, of which she is the Principle of the Workplace Hub. Along with other professionals who are attending, there are 130 mediators and mediation trainers. They will be helping and judging the students on how well they are performing in the cross-border business disputes.
Grab the App
Alongside the information, the ICC and ADR-ODR have released an app for people who are going to the event. The app includes the competition rules, FAQs and profiles of all the teams and the professionals attending. As well as the full broken-down schedule of what will be happening and when.
The team are very much looking forward to witnessing some of the young, bright talent on show in the competition. They will also be meeting with lawyers, professionals and business leaders in the HR and mediation industry.
